It was recently reported that Piper Niven’s recent absence from the ring was related to an unspecified injury. And now, in very worrying news, Bryan Alvarez has revealed on Wrestling Observer Live that the unknown injury may even be career-ending, which would be truly heartbreaking considering she is only 34.
It was once thought that Niven, who previously wrestled under the name Doudrop, was close to being released by WWE, as she was only receiving minimal television time. However, when Sonya Deville suffered an ACL injury, it opened the door for the Scottish wrestler to take her tag team spot alongside Chelsea Green. Subsequently, as a pair, they would become an integral part of WWE’s women’s division, often being the highlight of any show on which they appeared.
