Santos Escobar Is Already Back With WWE

On Monday, the news broke that Santos Escobar’s was set to leave WWE having turned down a new contract. Subsequently, the second-generation luchador took to X to share a short video accompanied by the word “Palante,” which means “onward” in Spanish, leading many to expect to see him in either AEW or TNA sooner rather than later.

However, in an update that nobody saw coming, PWInsider.com has reported that the 41-year-old has re-signed with WWE after a larger offer was made. According to the report, Escobar shared his “creative concerns,” and after being offered more money, he agreed to return to the company on Wednesday evening.

“We are told that WWE management considered Escobar’s creative concerns and, we are told, made Escobar a sizeably larger offer than any of their previous overtures. At that point, Escobar agreed to terms. The belief is they came to an agreement late yesterday. There is no word when Escobar will be back on the road, but he’s signed with the company once again.”PWInsider.com

Pro wrestling has always been part of Escobar’s life, with his father and uncle paving the way for him. This would see him break into the business as a teenager, competing under a mask as El Hijo del Fantasma. Therefore after proving himself in CMLL, AAA, Lucha Underground, and Impact Wrestling, the door opened for him to join WWE in 2019, with him embracing sports entertainment by taking off his mask and changing his ring name.
