Vampiro Announced For Second Match Since Retiring From The Ring In April

It appears Vampiro continues to struggle with the idea of hanging up his boots as the legendary Canadian wrestler, who officially stepped away from the ring in April, not only made a surprise one-off return in June, but is now being advertised for a Canadian retirement match. Receiving major billing on the poster, Vampiro will l face Chris Masters in a No DQ Street Fight at a Great North Wrestling event on August 29.

After a legendary four-decade career, Vampirto, real name Ian Hodgkinson, had a high-profile retirement tour in Mexico and held what was billed as his farewell match on April 17, 2026, at JCW’s Strangle-Mania in Las Vegas. Yet just eight weeks later, he was back in action at MaskedMania. This suggests that, like a dozen wrestlers before him, such as the late Terry Funk, the former WCW wrestler cannot stay retired for long.
