Update On Trench’s AEW Status

Last week eagle-eyed fans noticed that Trench, real name Granden Goetzman had been removed from the AEW roster page. And while that doesn’t automatically mean someone has departed the company, it usually indicates their days are numbered. And now PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson has confirmed the former baseball player’s contract did expire, and he is no longer part of the company.

The heavily tattooed former baseball player was actually a round-two draft pick for the Tampa Bay Rays; however, he wouldn’t start for the team and went on to play in the minor leagues. Subsequently, he decided to transition into wrestling, and after training with Jay Lethal, became part of AEW alongside Swerve Strickland and Parker Boudreaux as Moguel Affiliates despite having no experience on the independents. Therefore it can only be presumed he was considered a prospect, given his obvious athletic background and unique look.
