WWE previously advertised that Andrade and Ivar would be wrestling during this week’s episode of Raw. However, earlier on Monday, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced on social media that Ivar wasn’t medically cleared to compete, and therefore, Imperium’s Giovanni Vinci would wrestle the former AEW star instead. And now Fightful Select has let fans know that the Viking Raider won’t be out for long, although the specifics of his condition weren’t known.
“We’ve asked about Ivar’s status and we’re told that he’s fine, and is expecting to be back in the ring in quick fashion. We weren’t told specifically what is keeping him out of the ring right now.”
Fightful Select40-year-old Ivar, real name Todd Smith, first made his name in Ring of Honor and New Japan alongside regular tag partner Erik before signing with WWE in 2018. Yet, with Erik currently sidelined due to having neck fusion surgery, Ivar has recently become a singles competitor, working against the likes of Sami Zayn, Chad Gable, and LA Knight over the past few months.
