Update On Edge & Bray Wyatt’s Planned WWE Returns

Both Edge and Bray Wyatt were involved in highly anticipated matches at WrestleMania. Still, neither man has been seen on television since the event. Edge’s absence was foreseen as he is a part-timer now and only has a limited number of dates on his contract. Wyatt’s disappearance has been unexpected and the subject of much speculation. Some reports claim he is dealing with personal issues. In contrast, others say WWE is keeping his character off the television by design.

Now though, it’s been confirmed that both men are being advertised for upcoming shows in local promotional material. Edge is being promoted for SmackDown on July 16th and again on September 3rd, while Wyatt has been announced as The Fiend for Raw on August 9th. With SummerSlam taking place on Saturday, August 21st, 2021, this seemingly verifies both men will be involved in WWE’s second-biggest show of the year.

Currently, it isn’t known what WWE’s plans are for either man. The belief is Edge is set to return as a babyface, which would seemingly limit his opponents to King Corbin, Seth Rollins, or Sami Zayn. A WrestleMania rematch against Reigns could happen, although it’s strongly believed WWE is planning on headlining SummerSlam with Reigns vs. John Cena.

As for Wyatt, his feud with Randy Orton appeared to conclude at WrestleMania, meaning he also needs a fresh opponent. With his ability to work as either a face or heel, he could face virtually anyone on the Raw roster. Alternatively, he may get involved in whatever program Alexa Bliss is working at the time.
