Update On Drew McIntyre’s WWE Contract Status Following MITB Return

Drew McIntyre had been absent from WWE television since WrestleMania 39 due to injury; however, it was also reported there had also been issues stemming from a contract dispute. Now though, with him returning at Money In The Bank to confront Gunther, many presumed a new deal must be imminent or possibly even signed. That, though, isn’t the case as, according to PWInsider.com, who have reported the two sides are yet to even open negotiations on a new contract due to his current one still having several months remaining.

“We are told by two sources that McIntyre’s WWE contractual status has not changed and the two sides have not yet come to terms on a new deal or extension, so his contract is still due to expire in early 2024. The two sides have yet to even begin discussions on that deal, partially because there’s so much time left.”PWInsider.com

Mcintyre rose to prominence as “The Chosen One” in WWE, although a career setback led to his departure. Nevertheless, he reinvented himself on the independent circuit and abroad. McIntyre’s return to WWE was nothing short of spectacular, as he reclaimed his spot in the main event scene via an NXT run and achieved his lifelong dream of becoming the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 36, solidifying his legacy and demonstrating his resilience.
