In August 2023, Cash Wheeler was arrested following an alleged road rage incident where it was claimed he pulled a firearm on another driver. Subsequently, the AEW wrestler pleaded not guilty, and eventually the prosecutor’s office filed “nolle prosequi,” meaning they were unwilling to pursue the prosecution.
And now, almost two years on, PWInsider.com has reported that the 38-year-old’s legal record was fully expunged last month, fully restoring his good name.
While few people thought Wheeler would ever face jail time, given his high-profile status, it was obviously an embarrassing situation. In fact, it’s known that Wheeler felt so bad that he seriously considered retiring from the ring to save AEW and his colleagues any negative press. However, his long-term tag partner Dax Harwood would thankfully talk him out of this, ensuring one of the best tag teams in the world didn’t end prematurely.
