Unfortunate Paul Wight Injury News Shared

Paul Wight is a pro wrestling legend, having been at the top of the business for most of his career, and it was considered a big deal when AEW signed him in 2021. Disappointingly, he has been dealing with injuries that required surgery since then, and his ring time has therefore been severely limited. Still, things looked up when he was able to wrestle on the November 15 episode of Dynamite as part of an eight-man street fight. However, it now appears he may require yet another surgery, as Chris Jericho has revealed on the latest episode of Talk Is Jericho that Wight possibly needs to get his knee scooped.

“Paul had hurt his knee and has some issues where I think he has to get some of that cleaned out right now.”

51-year-old Wight began his wrestling career in 1995 for WCW under the name The Giant and would win the promotions world title in his debut match against Hulk Hogan. Despite being one of the few younger talents pushed into the main event scene, he still opted to leave the company and signed with WWE in 1999. Since then, he would become a constant for Vince McMahon’s company for over 20 years, except for a hiatus in 2007, when he attempted to become a professional boxer.
