Undisputed Elite Member Reportedly Won’t Be Having His AEW Contract Renewed

When three of the four members of Undisputed Era re-united in AEW, now called Undisputed Elite, it looked like big things were planned for the trio. However, injuries have plagued the group consisting of Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish, limiting their television time together. And now, according to Fightful Select, Fish’s contract is unlikely to be renewed. Their report would not confirm an exact date, but as Fish made his AEW debut on the October 6th, 2021 episode of Dynamite, wrestling Sammy Guevara, it would seem he has a month left at most.

Fish has been missing from AEW programming in recent weeks, and the reason for that is now clear. We’re told that Fish’s contract is coming up, and he will likely be finishing with the company when it does, with the deal not being renewed. Fish last appeared on the August 3 episode of AEW Dynamite, when the Undisputed Elite returned. Fish, Adam Cole, and Kyle O’Reilly betrayed the Young Bucks to seemingly launch some sort of program, but they haven’t been seen since.

Fish had previously been with NXT since the brand’s June 23rd, 2017, television tapings, announcing he had signed a full-time contract the next month. He and longtime tag partner O’Reilly would go on to align with Cole becoming known as The Undisputed Era and twice held the NXT Tag Team Championship. Unfortunately for him, due to budgetary cuts, he would be released on August 6th, 2021. And while there will be speculation he could return to WWE, given Triple H is re-signing his favorites now he is in charge of talent relations, the fact he turns 46 next month may work against him.
