In TV Guide’s annual list of the “100 Best Shows on TV Right Now,” one weekly wrestling show made the cut and came in ahead of The Walking Dead, Westworld, Law & Order: SVU, and The Mandalorian. That show was AEW Dynamite and ranked at an impressive #57. TV Guide would go as far as to describe Dynamite as “the best of what today’s wrestling has to offer.”
To be eligible, a show must be ongoing or concluded within a month of the published ranking. This meant Raw, SmackDown and NXT were in contention, but TV Guide didn’t consider them consistently good enough. This is a remarkable achievement for AEW when you consider Dynamite has existed for less than a year, with many episodes having been without fans in attendance. Tony Khan would take to Twitter and described inclusion on the list as an honor.
Another much-loved show with a considerable following amongst wrestling fans is Netflix’s drama GLOW, which came in at a lofty #11. You can read the full list at TVGuide.com.
