Earlier this month Trish Stratus had to cancel an appearance in Wales due to her mother being unwell. And now in a heartbreaking update, the WWE Hall of Famer has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to her beloved mom, disclosing that she passed away last week following a battle with cancer.
Thank you for loving me so fiercely, for shaping me into who I am, and for showing me what it means to be resilient. You are my literal fighting spirit and dammit, I’m gonna miss you so much! #f*ckcancer #mamastratus“Trish Stratus
It was believed Stratus had retired from the ring following her defeat to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2019. Yet, the Canadian opted to return in 2023 to work a program with Becky Lynch which built to a memorable steel cage match, which left her battered and bruised. Subsequently she would remain out of the ring in 2024, but returned this year for a Royal Rumble match appearance, as well as teaming and later wrestling Tiffany Stratton.
