Triple H’s Revisionist History Has Promoted A Fierce Response From Chris Jericho

NXT moved from the WWE Network to the USA Network as counterprogramming for AEW Dynamite, with the intention of WWE to prevent the new promotion from taking off. Nevertheless, it was never truly a contest, with Dynamite winning the ratings 63 out of the 75 times the shows went head to head. Now though, during a recent interview, Triple H would play down the defeat, simply saying, “They beat our developmental system. Good for them.

And while many fans will simply accept this as fact, Triple H had previously said on multiple occasions that NXT was a third brand when he was running the show. However, one person who hasn’t forgotten these past statements is AEW’s Chris Jericho, as he has fired back in an interview with Alex McCarthy, reminding everyone of Triple H’s past remarks and going as far as to say that NXT sucks.

Once again, it is just changing the narrative and changing the history, which makes me laugh. Because when it started, it was not developmental, it was a third brand, it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon, and all the other bullsh*t that they said, so of course, we beat the developmental or whatever you want to call it, but who gives a sh*t? It’s such old news, and the show sucks. NXT sucks, it’s not a good show, and they know it.

While not officially confirmed, it’s believed that Triple H’s previous decline of power came after his vision of NXT failed to be competitive with AEW, despite having access to main roster talent. And given that it resulted in him and his team being phased out, it would make sense for him to hold a grudge against AEW. Ultimately though, with Vince McMahon being shamed into retiring, Triple H has been given a second chance and now leads WWE in terms of creative and talent recruitment.
