CM Punk’s interview with Ariel Helwani is currently the hot topic of conversation on social media, with the former AEW wrestler being less than flattering about his former employer. Subsequently, multiple AEW talents posted their support for the company on X, and among them appears to have been his wife’s ex-boyfriend, Trent Berretta, who wrote, “Unfortunately, con men make great babyfaces.” Yet, he deleted this vague comment not long afterward, which actually drew more attention to it.
When CM Punk returned from his self-imposed wrestling hiatus in 2021 to join AEW, it seemed like the match made him heaven. Yet, his run with AEW will ultimately go down as a failure due to multiple injuries and the two backstage altercations he was involved in. However, there were some positive moments, like his debut on Rampage and his hard-hitting dog collar match with MJF, which will live long in fans’ memories.
