Following Jade Cargill’s victory over Taya Valkyrie earlier in the night at Double or Nothing, her manager Mark Sterling would cut a promo saying she would take on anyone, anywhere, at any time. This led to Kris Statlander’s music hitting and an impromptu match taking place. Stalander would end up countering Cargill and hit a piledriver for the win to become the new TBS Champion, ending Cargill’s undefeated streak at 60-1. And now it has been reported by PWInsider.com that this was done because Cargill is taking a break from the ring.

The belief is Jade Cargill will be taking some time off. The title change with Kris Statlander’s return had been planned long in advance. Cargill is still signed with the company.

How long the 30-year-old will be away from AEW remains to be seen, nor is it known what she plans to do with her time off. Nevertheless, considering how big a part of the product she has been for AEW since signing with the promotion, she will be a significant loss, especially with Collision set to launch. However, it will allow others to step up, and several new opponents could await her when she returns.
