Top AEW Star Expected To Be Off Television Following Worlds End

AEW concluded 2023 with a bang, thanks to Worlds End delivering the great pay-per-view quality fans have come to expect from Tony Khan’s promotion. Yet, while there were multiple good matches, one of the big talking points coming out of the show among fans has been MJF losing the AEW World Championship and the subsequent reveal of Adam Cole as The Devil. And now, Fightful Select has reported this was likely the last appearance of MJF for the immediate future on AEW television as he is set to take time off to recover from his injuries.

“Many that Fightful spoke to immediately following AEW Worlds End said that they expect MJF to be off TV for a while immediately, if not almost immediately. MJF had sustained a plethora of injuries during his AEW Title reign, but was adamant that he wanted to see it through. As MJF is often influential in his own creative, there’s always a chance he could insist on an absence not happening, but it’s expected internally.”

Despite only being 27 years of age, MJF has established himself as one of the top stars in AEW since winning the promotions top championship 13 months ago from Jon Moxley. However, throughout his run, he has had to cope with injuries, and at present, it’s known he is dealing with both a damaged hip and a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Nevertheless, MJF has bravely battled on, fulfilling his obligations to AEW, and it’s believed that instead of undergoing surgery, he has opted to receive stem cell therapy and focus on rehab.
