Tony Schiavone Comments On CM Punk’s Recent Interview With Ariel Helwani In His Own Unique Style

Earlier this week, CM Punk caused plenty of controversy on social media following an interview with Ariel Helwani in which he commented on his time in AEW. Among the topics discussed included his now infamous backstage altercation with Jack Perry, which revealed that Perry previously swore at Tony Schiavone over wanting to use real glass in a segment being filmed for Collision. So, while nothing negative was said about Schiavone, the former WCW commentator would still be asked about the interview during the latest episode of his popular podcast, with him saying, “I don’t give a sh*t.

“I really don’t give a sh*t about it. I’m not going to get into this. I know what he said, and let him continue to talk if he wants. That’s all I got. I don’t give a sh*t. That’s all I can say. I can’t get into that. It would be stupid for me to get into that. I have no idea what he said, with the exception of someone who told me, ‘Oh, he brought up your name, and here’s what he said’, and I went, ‘So what? So f*cking what.’”

Tony Schiavone

Schiavone broke into the business back in 1985, where he would host NWA’s World Championship Wrestling in front of a studio audience for Jim Crockett Promotions. Afterward, he jumped to WWE in 1989, but after just one year, he returned to WCW, which is now under the ownership of Ted Turner. Then, following 11 years as WCW’s main play-by-play announcer, it appeared his career in the wrestling industry was unfortunately over when Vince McMahon purchased the company. Yet, he did work with TNA and MLW on a part-time basis over the next 16 years before AEW hired him, and he had a career renaissance.
