Tony Khan Acknowledges AEW’s New Working Relationship

Over the years, AEW has established working relationships with multiple promotions, including Impact Wrestling, New Japan, AAA, and Billy Corgan’s NWA, with some lasting longer than others. And following the news that CMLL star Místico is set to debut for the promotion during next Wednesday’s Rampage taping in Rosenberg, TX, the lucha libre promotion has announced on social media that they are officially collaborating with AEW. Subsequently, Tony Khan would acknowledge this on X by declaring it “so cool” and saying everyone at AEW is excited about the taping.

The big question many fans are now asking is what this new partnership means for the future of AEW and AAA working together. This is because the Mexican promotions have been fierce rivals ever since Antonio Peña broke away from CMLL in 1992 to launch AAA in the first place. And despite that being over 30 years ago, CMLL refuses to forgive and forget. Therefore, AEW’s continued working relationship with AAA appears to be in doubt.
