On Wednesday morning, wrestling fans began to panic after Bubba The Love Sponge claimed on his radio show that Hulk Hogan was on his deathbed. According to Hogan’s former friend Bubba, who repeatedly said “allegedly,” the two-time WWE Hall of Famer was dealing with a serious heart condition, and his family was told to “come say your goodbyes.”
However, in positive news, TMZ has now confirmed that while the WWE legend was recently hospitalized, it was for neck and back issues and, therefore, not life-threatening.
71-year-old Hogan retired from the ring back in 2012 following two low-key house show matches for TNA in the United Kingdom. And while he has regularly teased making a comeback to have a proper retirement match, the fact that he has been seen walking with a cane due to having had the nerves in his lower back cut makes that unlikely. Nonetheless, he remains a significant part of both WWE and pro wrestling history, and to those who lived through Hulkamania in the 80s, he remains a big deal.
