The Rock Is Seemingly Upset With Changes In DC Universe

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been in the news lately mostly to promote his recent film, “Black Adam.” He also made headlines when Warner Bros. Executives accused him of leaking information about the profitability of the movie to counter reports that the film would lose the studio between $50 and $100 million.

Now some believe The Rock has given up on the DC Universe as he has stopped following the official Instagram accounts of the “Black Adam” movie and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Ringside News reports: “It seems that Rock stopped following the official accounts on Instagram because of a change in ‘the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe.’ Writer/director and new co-CEO of DC Studios at Warner Bros. James Gunn can be credited as the cause of the demise of the current DCEU.”

Gunn is apparently making changes to the DC Universe that The Rock isn’t happy with. Those changes reportedly include that Henry Cavill will no longer be playing Superman in future films. Cavill appeared in a mid-credits scene in “Black Adam.”

The Rock also was allegedly pushing for Black Adam to fight other characters, perhaps Superman, played by Cavill.

As early as last week, The Rock was defending the success of “Black Adam” despite others refuting those claims. “Waited to confirm with financiers before I shared this excellent #BlackAdam news – our film will PROFIT between $52M-$72M. Fact,” Johnson tweeted. “At almost $400M worldwide we are building our new franchise step by step (first Captain America did $370M) for the DC future.”

According to CBR.com, however, Warner Bros. executives claim that The Rock reportedly leaked inaccurate information about the movie’s profits.
