The Reason WWE Brought Brian Kendrick Back For Survivor Series Has Been Reported

Brian Kendrick requested his WWE release earlier this year, and once granted, he was almost immediately announced for AEW. However, Tony Khan backed out of using him when old conspiracy theory videos featuring him making disturbing claims were re-shared. Therefore he has been trying to rebuild both his career and reputation in the indies.

Now though, he may be back with WWE, although that isn’t fully confirmed as the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion worked as an agent for Ronda Rousey vs. Shotzi at Survivor Series. And while this came as a surprise following the controversy, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio it turns out that Rousey pushed for him to help produce her match due to him previously being involved in her training.

Brian Kendrick was Ronda Rousey’s original wrestling trainer. And she suggested she asked for him to be brought in for her match with Shotzi. So he was in on Saturday, and it was not a higher. You could say it was a tryout. I wouldn’t say it wasn’t a tryout, but it really wasn’t like a normal tryout. It was more Rhonda. Rousey asked for him to help produce.

If Kendrick ends up signed full-time, it would be his fourth spell with WWE, having worked on and off for the company over the past twenty years. However, the match he put together wasn’t received well by fans, and even the biggest fans of Rousey would struggle to call it a pay-per-view quality encounter. Although how much of that is down to Kendrick’s producing ability and how much is down to the two talents involved being very limited in the ring is very much up for debate.
