The Reason Sammy Guevara Couldn’t Compete On Dynamite Has Been Reported

During this week’s episode of Dynamite, Don Callis revealed that Sammy Guevara wasn’t medically cleared to compete. Therefore, Kyle Fletcher would replace him as Konosuke Takeshita’s tag team partner for the match against Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho. And now it has been revealed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that Guevara is suffering from a concussion that occurred at WrestleDream.

“Sammy got a concussion on the pay-per-view, is what happened. So he’s out, it’s a concussion story, could be next week, could be, who knows. But yeah, he’s out.”

The 30-year-old AEW original has always been booked as a prominent performer in the company. However, he looked set to reach new heights after turning on Chris Jericho and aligning with Callis. Therefore, it can only be hoped for both AEW and Guevera that his absence from the ring is short, as it would be unfortunate for both parties if he were to lose his current momentum.
