The Honky Tonk Man Seemingly Has Plan For His Final Match

WWE Hall of Famer The Honky Tonk Man is one of pro wrestling’s most famous characters and is known for being the longest-reigning Intercontentical Champion at a time when the title was meaningful. Yet, despite not being a featured performer on television in decades, he remains a popular figure, and WWE still sells his merchandise. And while he last wrestled in 2019, it appears he hasn’t officially retired and is planning a final match if his latest tweet is to be taken at face value.

The Hony Tonk Man continued to travel the country post-WWE and WCW and would regularly wrestle indies against fellow legends and local talents, typically going over. And while he slowed down due to his advancing age always got over where he went due to knowing how to work his gimmick, which didn’t require many bumps. Being 69 now, though, it seems right now is the time to hang it up, and he could potentially get a big final payoff in a Ric Flair-style LAst Match event.
