PJ Farley and the Pod of Thunder crew (Andy, Nick, and the mysterious Chris L) return for the most unhinged holiday watchalong yet as they hit PLAY on the Captain & Tennille Christmas Special that originally aired on ABC in December of 1976! What follows is a full-on descent into network TV madness featuring Don Knotts chain-smoking his way through an airplane sketch, Tom Bosley (aka Howard Cunningham from Happy Days) siting through his contributions to the show, the Pointer Sisters bringing the little energy that existed, and The Captain (aka Daryl Dragon) looking like the most miserable man ever trapped behind a camera (or a piano for that matter). The guys break down the baffling guest list, the nonstop ballads, the total lack of Christmas spirit, and the awkward 70s variety-show chaos – all in real time. It’s uncomfortable, confusing, unintentionally hilarious, and possibly the least joyful holiday special ever made!
