New York Times best-selling author and true crime expert Jillian Lauren extensively interviewed the most prolific serial killer in American history, Sam Little, and as a result of her effort, aided law enforcement in clearing 63 of Little’s alleged 90-plus murders. She spent a year visiting Little in prison and built such a rapport with him that he left her all of his worldly possessions along with his brain when he died in 2020. Jillian recounts what led her to contact Sam Little in the first place, how letter writing turned into in-person visits, and what it took to get him to reveal details about his killings. She also talks about what it was like to put the entire horrific experience into written form in her book, “Behold The Monster: Confronting a Serial Killer,” and the toll the entire process took on her mental health and her family.
