“Superstar” Bill Dundee Battling Serious Health Condition

In sad news, Jamie Dundee has revealed that his father, legendary pro wrestling brawler “Superstar” Bill Dundee, is suffering from dementia. Jamie revealed this during the latest episode of Story Time With Dutch Mantell and said the 79-year-old likely has the latter stages of the disease because he just sits around smiling all day.

“He’s got that dementia, he just smiles all the time like that. He just sits around smiling. I’m like, ‘Where you at, man? Where you at? What are you smiling about? What are you happy for?’ But they say in dementia that once you get to stage 3 and then stage 4, which is the end there, but stage 3, they say once you get there, you either cry all the time or you smile all the time, and that’s what he does, so I’m glad he don’t just sit around crying all the time.”

The Scottish-born Australian made his name in the Memphis territory, where he was a frequent opponent and tag partner for Jerry “The King” Lawler. He was also a renowned booker whose ideas and angles have since been recycled and reused countless times. Additionaly, he received national recognition when he worked for WCW in the 90s as Sir William, the manager of Lord Steven Regal. And while the years would eventually catch up to him, forcing him to retire, he was wrestling as recently as 2019 when he worked for GCW against Tony Deppen.
