During a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin discussed the possibility of one more match, while reflecting on his WrestleMania 38 return against Kevin Owens. In this, he revealed that despite having had total knee replacement surgery, he still feels physically capable, stating, “I could still do it.” However, when asked if he would wrestle again, he said “Probably not,” while adding the classic caveat, “never say never.”
At WrestleMania 38 Night 1, Austin returned after 19 years for an impromptu No Holds Barred match against Kevin Owens. This stemmed from Owens’ trash talk about Texas, with Austin’s appearance advertised only as a KO Show appearance. It’s understood WWE didn’t want to promote a match, and many assumed it would just see Austin give Owens a Stunner. However, to the delight of millions, an actual match did take place and concluded the show with one of Austin’s iconic beer bashes.
