To say John Cena’s retirement tour has been a letdown would be an understatement, with his heel turn flopping and final WrestleMania match being considered one of the worst major matches in the event’s history. Still, he final match, which is scheduled to take place on December 13 in Washington, D.C, during a Saturday Night’s Main Event show, will be a huge deal for fans. And while it is yet to be officially confirmed, Dave Meltzer has reported that Cena’s final opponent will be Gunther.
38-year-old Gunther is currently sidelined, with it believed that he underwent nose surgery shortly after dropping the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk at SummerSlam. However, with there being no news of complications, it appears there’ll be no problem with him getting medically cleared in time for the match, meaning he will be involved in the second retirement of a legendary performer, having retired Goldberg in July.
