Sheamus Comments On Locker Room Morale Following Recent Releases

Since WrestleMania, WWE has made multiple releases that have seen names like Braun Strowman, The IIconics, Samoa Joe, and Lana depart the company. Therefore it could be assumed that WWE’s locker room morale is at an all-time low. However, in a recent interview, Sheamus has stated this isn’t the case, and morale is better now than when he joined the promotion.

Q

The locker room got to get on with it. I’ve been in the company 12 years, and it is part of the business. People come in, and people go, and you got to get down with it every Monday, you got to get there and perform. I don’t think the morale is down. I think it is a lot better than what it used to be when I started. There is a lot more camaraderie, and we have great lads, experienced lads, and young lads working together.

The release of both Strowman shows almost nobody is safe at the moment, with the company focusing on making budget cuts despite record-breaking television and streaming deals. Seemingly the wrestlers know that a lack of job security is part of life in WWE. All they can do is work hard and hope the writers continue creating storylines for them, although as Aleister Black’s release shows, even that might not be enough.
