Sgt. Slaughter Might Have Heat With WWE

Last weekend, Sgt. Slaughter’s name came up when his daughter vented her frustration at Lacey Evans using a similar Marine gimmick to his, leading to the pair trading insults on Twitter. Subsequently, it would be revealed that WWE had attempted to use Slaughter in a managerial role for Evans, but he’d declined. And now it’s been reported by Ringside News’ Steve Carrier that there is no heat on Evans over the controversy; however, Slaughter isn’t being looked upon favorably at present.

We are told that there is no heat on Lacey Evans at all. If anything, Slaughter isn’t being looked at too favorably within WWE.

Why Slaughter is so against passing the torch to Evans is unknown, but considering he hasn’t wrestled in almost a decade, and Evans is a real-life former Marine, it is understandable why WWE would give her such a gimmick. Nevertheless, it doesn’t appear this situation will go away anytime soon. Yet, the fact Evans was absent from this week’s SmackDown could be telling.
