Second-Generation AEW Talent Departs The Company

On Tuesday afternoon, it was noted that Brian Pillman Jr. had been removed from AEW’s official roster page. And while that doesn’t guarantee someone has departed the company, it isn’t a good sign. And now PWInsider.com has confirmed that Pillman Jr. has left AEW with his contract having expired.

“Brian Pillman Jr.’s AEW deal has expired, PWInsider.com has confirmed with sources. We are told currently, the deal will not be renewed and the second generation star, 29, has exited the company.”

Pillman Jr. is the son of the late great Brian Pillman and began his wrestling journey in 2017 when he trained at Lance Storm’s school, the Storm Wrestling Academy, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He would go on to work independents before making a name for himself in MLW, and due to his MLW contract allowing him to also work for AEW, he would begin working for Tony Khan’s company as well. He would then gain significant attention when he formed the Varsity Blondes with Griff Garrison.
