On June 22nd Sammy Guevara was suspended by AEW when a highly inappropriate comment he made on a podcast four years prior regarding Sasha Banks went viral. He would quickly apologize in private to Banks and then to his follows on social media, followed up by an apology video on his YouTube channel. AEW took his inappropriate remark seriously and, as part of his suspension, required him to attend sensitivity training and forfeit his pay to the Women’s Center of Jacksonville while he was out suspended.
No indication was given on how long the suspension was for, or when Guevara would return. However, last night he appeared under a mask disguised as Serpentico and helped his Inner Circle stable-mates Chris Jericho and Jake Hager beat Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy. With the Inner Circle now restored to full strength, all five members are scheduled to wrestle Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, Orange Cassidy, Trent, and Chuck Taylor in a tag match next Wednesday on Dynamite.
