RVD Fires Back At Fan Who Said Him Continuing To Wrestle Is “Worst Idea” He Ever Had

This past weekend RVD returned to the ring in Japan at the Cyberfight Festival, where he wrestled as part of a six-man tag. While this wasn’t his first match of the year, it was arguably his most high-profile bout since departing Impact Wrestling in 2020, and clips of him performing his trademark sports would end up shared on social media. Subsequently, it was announced he’d be returning in July to wrestle a hardcore match. However, one fan would criticize RVD for continuing to wrestle and seemingly question his mental state. RVD, though wouldn’t quietly accept the criticism and fired back, calling the fan silly.

It’s known that 51-year-old RVD has suffered multiple concussions throughout his career, and it’s believed he can no longer get medically cleared to wrestle for major promotions. However, he still clearly feels he has something to offer and can entertain fans, having competed six times over the past 12 months. Whether he will now become a regular for Cyberfight, who own DDT and NOAH, remains unknown. Still, given they’ve regularly booked 59-year-old Keiji Muto, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him wrestle for them somewhat frequently from now on.
