Earlier this year, rocker Rob Zombie revealed he was working on his next studio album. “It’s been a while since I’ve made a record,” he told Howie Mandel on the “Howie Mandel Does Stuff” podcast in May. “I was working on the music for the LP till about a week ago. And it’s going good. It’s a long process.”

“I like making records over a long period of time, so that I can live with it. Sometimes you write something and it’s new and you’re all excited ’cause it’s new and the time goes by, and you’re, like ‘Eh, it’s just exciting ’cause it’s new. It’s not really that good.’ But if you live with stuff for a while, you kind of get a better sense of how strong it is.”

Before he gets back to the studio, however, Zombie kicked off his “Freaks On Parade” tour with Alice Cooper, and on Saturday he and Cooper were set to start a 3-date “Halloween Hootenanny” run in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, Zombie had to cancel the show due to laryngitis.

“We regret to inform you that due to laryngitis, Rob Zombie will unfortunately not be able to perform at Bakkt Theater tonight, however, Alice Cooper will still be doing a full set as planned,” read a statement on Zombie’s social media. “Given this unexpected change in the lineup, should you opt not to attend you may request a refund from your original point of purchase.”

Zombie himself added: “I am so bummed to announce this, but I have no voice. Zero. I tried sound checking but couldn’t get any sound out. Not the Halloween extravaganza I was looking forward to. It kills me to cancel this show. So sorry.”
