Rikishi recently had to cancel some bookings after undergoing what was described as emergency surgery. And while the beloved WWE Hall of Fame hasn’t revealed what his health condition was, he has opened up about the situation during his latest podcast episode. In this, he would reveal that the operation lasted around six hours, and that it was “caught just in time.“
Rikishi, whose real name is Solofa Fatu Jr., broke into the business in 1985. From there, he gained fame as Fatu in the Headshrinkers, capturing the WWF Tag Team Championship in 1994. Eventually, he would be pushed as a singles talent, being repackaged as The Sultan and later Rikishi, going on to win the Intercontinental Championship in 2000 and competing in high-profile matches against The Rock and Steve Austin.
