Ridge Holland Opens Up On His Struggle After Accidentally Breaking Big E’s Neck

Ridge Holland is currently recovering from Lisfranc surgery, having suffered the devastating foot injury during a recent match with TNA’s Moose. However, the timing was especially unfortunate for the former Rugby League player, as WWE made the decision not to renew his contract, causing a great deal of controversy online.

Still, it appears Holland is doing his best to move on, and this has led him to launch a YouTube channel. And now, during his first video, he has spoken about the infamous incident where he accidentally broke Big E’s neck, and in the process became one of the most unpopular WWE wrestlers ever.

“Obviously the thing that affected me more than anything was the Big E thing. I just want to say that if I had a time machine, right here right now, the first thing I’d do is go back and not do that spot. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about what happened. It really shook my confidence. I contemplated quitting to be honest. When you’re going out there on the main roster in a worldwide spotlight, the last thing you want is your confidence to go, because it shows in your performances.”Ridge Holland

37-year-old Holland, whose real name is Luke Menzies, decided to pursue a career in pro wrestling in 2017 after being a journeyman rugby league player in his home country of England. Subsequently, he signed with WWE the following year and appeared set to receive every opportunity to become a main event talent due to his althetism and look. Yet, after the aforementioned incident involving Big E during an episode of SmackDown, any hopes of him ever becoming a star evaporated.
