Ric Flair’s Last Match Tag Partner & Opponents Revealed

Ric Flair is set to hang up his wrestling boots for good if the marketing for his match on July 31st is to be believed. Yet, while the rest of the card has mostly been reported, precisely who 73-year-old Flair would be sharing a ring with hadn’t been confirmed. At one time, the bout was rumored to be a six-man tag, and then it was uncovered that Ricky Steamboat had been offered the spot but declined over not wanting to tarnish his legacy or because the pay wasn’t enough, depending on whose story you believe. Now though, the mystery has finally been solved, as during the latest episode of Flair’s Last Match Docuseries, it was officially announced Flair will team with Andrade El Idolo against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.

Flair had one of the greatest wrestling sendoffs in history following his defeat to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24 in 2008. After that, however, he was forced to wrestle again due to financial issues, initially on a Hulkamania tour of Australia and then for TNA. Now though, with it truly believed to be Flair’s last hurrah, it’s understood that his son-in-law Conrad Thompson, who is behind the show, has something truly monumental lined up. And for those who can’t be in Nashville to experience the show in person, it will be streamed worldwide on FITE.
