Despite it being rumored for several weeks that Hulk Hogan was in poor health, the wrestling world was still shocked when TMZ reported he had passed away on Thursday morning. And now, among the thousands of tributes posted online regarding the two-time WWE Hall of Famer, his longtime friend Ric Flair has shared his thoughts on Hogan via X, declaring, “No one will ever compare to you.”
Despite being two of the biggest stars of the ’80s, Hogan and Flair wouldn’t share a ring until 1991 when the Nature Boy jumped to WWE. Initially, it was believed the duo would headline WrestleMania 8 against each other, given it was a dream match to many. However, after the match failed to draw on the house show circuit, Vince McMahon decided to go in a different direction. Still, Hogan and Flair would go on to have several high-profile matches a few years later in WCW, with their Bash At The Beach bout in 1994 arguably being the biggest.
