73-year-old Ric Flair is set to return to the ring on July 31st in what is being billed as his last ever match. At present, his opponent hasn’t been revealed, but it has been speculated that the bout will actually be a six-man tag match featuring FTR and the Rock N’ Roll Express, which would make sense as it would allow the workload to be shared. However, while the lineup might not yet be known, Flair is still hyping up the match on social media, and this weekend would tease fans with a video showing off the robe he will be wearing on the show.
Flair’s wrestling robes are legendary and have sold at auction for tens of thousands of dollars. So if this is indeed Flair’s final match, its value to a collector could end up being astronomical. But, of course, considering that Flair has retired previously, some remain doubtful whether the 16-time world champion will genuinely step away, as he had arguably the greatest pro wrestling retirement ever following his WrestleMania 24 match against Shawn Michaels and still returned. Yet, he was dealing with financial hardship at the time, which may no longer be a factor as he has multiple other business ventures nowadays.
