And most of the matches that were televised were very well-received, Flair has now revealed during a new interview that he and Savage had “terrible chemistry,” noting that he liked to call matches in the ring, while Savage preferred to rehearse.
Many old-school wrestlers argue that calling matches in the ring is the best method, as it enables wrestlers to react to the crowd and tailor the matches to their preference. However, some others, like Savage, prefer to lay out matches in advance to ensure they run as smoothly as possible, which has become more common in recent years. And while both methods have their positives and negatives, it’s mainly an issue for the wrestlers themselves, with most fans being blissfully unaware as they watch the match unfold.
