Over the weekend, it was reported that AEW’s upcoming video game wouldn’t contain FTR, which was a massive blow to fans of the tag team. And while initially looking like a bad sign for the duo’s long-term future with the company, both men would say in a subsequent interview that after being told why they were okay with their exclusion. This, though, has still left fans pondering the reason behind the decision to omit the duo. Still, one gaming journalist has revealed on Twitter that he was told the issue was due to move set captures and animations.
While not confirmed, this explanation does make sense, especially as the game was created from scratch. However, it does, unfortunately, suggest other talents or teams may also be missing upon the launch. Nevertheless, with DLC being such an accepted part of the video game business, it seems inevitable that the duo and others will be added later, likely ensuring a healthy payday for all involved.
