News recently broke that Alex Abrahantes’ AEW contract had not been renewed, making him a free agent. And now the 48-year-old has addressed his departure on social media, thanking owner Tony Khan for the opportunity to live his dream of becoming a Spanish-language announcer and manager. In the emotional and inspirational video, he encouraged fans to work hard and believe in themselves, concluding with “So this is a see you later.“
Abrahantes has over 25 years of industry experience, having trained at the Hart Dungeon and worked on the indies under the name Yutzak Arafat. From there, he joined WWE’s creative team and later worked for TNA, Lucha Libre USA, and ROH. Then, in 2019, he signed with AEW, where he worked in both backstage and on-screen roles, memorably managing the Lucha Brothers and Komander, and even wrestling Mark Sterling in a dark match.
