Earlier this week, TMZ reported that police were on the lookout for former “Jackass” star Bam Margera after he bolted from a Florida rehab facility that he wasn’t allowed to leave. The facility’s manager reported the Margera went missing on Monday, according to a Delray Beach police report. The manager said Margera was unhappy being there, and he said he would be checking into a different rehab center in the area. He then left the facility in a black sedan. Margera was apparently under a court order to stay there.

Margera was one of the main stars of MTV’s hit show, which also spawned a successful movie franchise and the spinoff, “Viva La Bam.” Margera was with the series since its inception. He was barely a part of the franchise’s recent “Jackass Forever” film due, however, to his problems with drug addiction. He sued Paramount and others connected to the film for firing him before later settling the lawsuit.

TMZ reported that Margera is on his way back to the rehab that he left. He was reportedly found in a nearby hotel after being reported missing. Police and a crisis intervention team located him and escorted him back to the treatment center, where he went voluntarily. TMZ reported that Margera, who recently completed one year in the alcohol treatment program, is not believed to have relapsed, but instead was upset that he wasn’t receiving celebrity treatment at the rehab center.

The “Jackass” franchise and Margera share a close connection with hard rock, punk and heavy metal, having featured various artists in their shows and movies. Some of Margera’s favorite bands were featured in “Viva La Bam” including HIM, CKY, Cradle of Filth, Clutch, Turbonegro, Slayer, Gwar and more. “Jackass” also had a close connection to rock and punk and even released compilation albums featuring bands used for the show. Artists featured on the show and in “Jackass” movies included Andrew W.K., Agent Orange and The Misfits, among many others.

In his lawsuit against Paramount, Margera claimed that his dependence on Adderall and pain killers were a result of his performances and stunts. “I did not have any issues with addiction and drug use until I began my involvement … with the ‘Jackass’ franchise,” he said in legal documents. “It was not until then that I became dependent on Adderall and pain medications to maintain the focus needed to satisfy the production schedule of Defendants for my various television and motion picture projects and to manage the pain associated with the injuries I suffered performing the stunts in those productions.”

“Jackass” was also recently connected to WWE to promote “Jackass Forever,” and the franchise’s leader, Johnny Knoxville wrestled Sami Zayn at Wrestlemania and appeared in this year’s Royal Rumble.
