NXT Wrestler Released By WWE For Policy Issue

It was reported on Sunday evening by Dave Meltzer that NXT wrestler Troy ‘Two Dimes’ Donovan has been released by the company. It was noted the decision was made due to a policy issue, which leaves plenty of scope for speculation, and apparently, he was told he might be brought back in a year. Donovan had been an NXT regular since aligning with Tony D’Angelo, and last wrestled on the 8th of June episode of NXT alongside Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo losing to Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams.

The 22-year-old began wrestling in 2020 under the name Cole Karter and within six months, was working as an enhancement talent on AEW Dark and Elevation. He would even appear on Dynamite, losing a short match to Anthony Ogogo, and his final AEW appearance came in October 2021 as part of a three-on-one handicap match against Paul Wight. Five months later, he would officially sign with WWE and had only wrestled six matches for the promotion before his release.
