MJF is currently the talk of the wrestling world due to missing AEW’s Double or Nothing Fan Fest on Saturday and reportedly booking a flight out of Las Vegas. Yet, it was later confirmed he didn’t board the flight, which led to many believing he would still attend tonight’s pay-per-view. Now though, that has again been thrown into doubt as, according to PWInsider, as of 3:15 pm ET, he wasn’t backstage, and AEW are no longer promoting the MJF vs. Wardlow match on their YouTube channel.
As of five minutes ago, MJF has not been spotted backstage at AEW Double or Nothing. Several readers sent word within the last 30 minutes that a AEW YouTube video focused on MJF vs. Wardlow no longer appears on the company’s YouTube channel.
PWInsider.comWhile not confirmed, the speculation is that the AEW original is disgruntled with his pay, and while Tony Khan is open to increasing his salary, the length of his contract is a stumbling block. Nevertheless, with 18 months believed to be left on his AEW contract, MJF can’t just show up for WWE without massive legal repercussions. Additionally, and what has led some to believe this could be an elaborate work, is that Vince McMahon is far from impressed by such behavior, which Sasha Banks and Namoi’s suspensions have demonstrated. Therefore, if MJF has truly walked out, McMahon is unlikely to be impressed.
