Singer Myles Kennedy fronts hard rockers Alter Bridge, and his bandmates make up 3/4 of ‘90s icons Creed. In a recent interview with Eddie Trunk, Kennedy talked about the Creed reunion, which he admitted he hasn’t yet had the chance to see in person.
“Last time I saw Creed was when we opened for them with The Mayfield Four back in the late ’90s,” Kennedy explained. “But they just haven’t been anywhere near where I’ve been, and I’ve been on the road. So, I’m assuming it will happen the first chance I get to see them.”
“But, yeah, talk about just an incredible story of how it all came back together and how it was the sports thing that helped bring it back into the public consciousness, right? … It’s been great. I think it’s good for for the guys, it’s good for the fans who never got to see them live. And the nostalgia, it’s beautiful.”
Kennedy did previously say that watching Creed felt a little like watching your wife go to dinner with an ex, but he admitted that the group helped propel Alter Bridge to their own success. “And, you know in a lot of ways, Creed were responsible for opening doors for Alter Bridge and all that,” he said. “So it’s great that they’re back in that world again. It allows me to make more solo records, you know it’s… it’s all, good. I hope they make records, I hope they tour a lot more. There’s space for all that to co-exist.”
