Due to having so many brands, WWE is always looking to bring in new wrestlers, and thanks to the Performance Center, they train up indie wrestlers and athletes who show enough potential. And now it has been reported by Fightful Select that multiple names have been invited to New Jersey, where SummerSlam takes place this weekend, for tryouts.
As of writing, a complete list of talents has not been confirmed, although it is known that LJ Cleary, Ben Bishop, Goldenboy Santos, Rayne Leverkusen, Omari, Meghan Walker, and Zoe Sager are among the names, with WWE seemingly focusing on UK and Irish talents.
Arguably, the biggest name participating is LJ Cleary, who became known to WWE fans after being pointed out in the crowd at Backlash as Lyra Valkyria’s fiancé. And while it’s possible his relationship with Valkyria played a part in him getting a tryout, he is a very highly regarded professional wrestler himself, having shared the ring with names like JD McDonagh, PAC, and Zack Gibson. Additionally, he has worked approximately 80 matches in Japan, mainly for NOAH, so it would actually be surprising if he isn’t signed.
