Motörhead frontman and bassist Lemmy Kilmister is one of the most well known and beloved rock stars of all time. Kilmister sadly passed away in 2015, but his legacy lives on in the immense inspiration he provided to countless artists through his music and legendary persona.
On Sunday to mark the anniversary of his passing, official Motorhead social media accounts posted a heartbreaking and touching tribute. Accompanying a photo of Lemmy’s jacket and hat hanging on a coatrack was the caption: “It’s the toughest of days, especially this being a decade since you passed, but thankfully you remain as important and vital a figure in this world as ever before, a compass of human decency, (some fun indecencies), and one of the most genuinely great guys ever to walk the Earth.”
Web Is Jericho posted a lengthy tribute to Lemmy three years ago on the anniversary of his passing. The article reads: “While Lemmy might not have been God, in spirit, he surely was a rock ‘n’ roll saint, rightly guiding so many of those who followed his work to not only a rocking good time but a more fulfilled and meaningful life.”
