MLW Star Has Requested Their Release

MLW Star Has Requested Their Release

Alex Hammerstone began wrestling for MLW in 2019 and has since become one of their biggest stars, holding the MLW World Heavyweight Championship for 644 days. However, it has now been reported by Fightful Select that he has requested to be released from his contract, which expires in 2025, due to his relationship with the company becoming frayed. Still, it should be noted MLW is not obligated to agree, and, at present, they are denying the request.

Over the years, the 32-year-old has attended three WWE tryouts but has been unsuccessful each time, with MLW owner Court Bauer claiming in interviews the company thinks he looks too similar to Triple H. Additionaly, he had tried out for Impact Wrestling, wrestling on their Impact Wrestling Xplosion show, but again was rejected. This time, according to Tommy Dreamer, for looking too much like former ECW original Shane Douglas.
