Following last week’s episode of Dynamite, which was themed as Grand Slam Mexico, it was reported that MJF was involved in an altercation with a fan at his hotel. Apparently, the so-called fan had been taken in by MJF flipping off the crowd and wearing patriotic red, white, and blue ring gear during his match with Místico, and wanted it known he was far from impressed.
And now, after this news spread online, MJF has seemingly acknowledged the incident by taking to X and actually encouraging fans to jump the guardrail or catch him outside his hotel. However, this has led some fans to question the AEW’s stars’ approach, fearing it could result in someone taking him seriously, leading to a dangerous situation. Still, the majority of fans clearly recognized that this was just MJF being in character, as evidenced by the fact that his tweet mentioned the Hurt Syndicate.
MJF’s pro wrestling journey commenced in 2015, and while his attempt to join WWE via Tough Enough failed, he wouldn’t be put off and began working indies. This would subsequently lead him to join MLW and then AEW when Tony Khan was seeking talented unknowns to fill his roster. Yet while it was seen as an excellent signing for AEW at the time, few predicted MJF would reach the top of AEW so quickly after holding his own both in the ring and on the mic with the likes of Cody Rhodes, Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, and CM Punk.
